What is an Oxygen Generator?
An oxygen generator, also known as an O2 generator or oxygen generator, is a device that extracts oxygen from ambient air. By using PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology, nitrogen is removed from the air to produce high-purity oxygen. This technology is ideal for both medical and industrial applications.
How Does an Oxygen Generator Work?
Oxygen generators use PSA technology to extract oxygen from the air. Air is passed through a molecular sieve that adsorbs nitrogen and allows oxygen to pass through. The resulting oxygen has a purity of 90% to 95%. The continuous regeneration of the molecular sieve enables uninterrupted operation.

Medical Application with the OXYBERG® Oxygen Generator
The oxygen generator produces pure oxygen gas that is safe and ready for immediate use. In a hospital environment, the produced oxygen gas is ready for use anytime and anywhere. The on-site oxygen gas production is developing strongly worldwide, especially in the healthcare industry. This method is safer compared to externally supplied oxygen cylinders. Our oxygen generators have the IIB class certificate according to the European directive 93/42/CE for medical devices and can be safely used in any healthcare application. With the declaration of 93% oxygen gas purity according to section 7.1 of the European Pharmacopoeia standards that came into force in July 2011, such produced gas is suitable for human use. Our generators are certified according to these criteria.
The ISO 13485:2003 certificate confirms compliance for the manufacture of medical products. The oxygen gas produced is a safe oxygen source and suitable for use in all types of medical applications according to ISO 10083:2006 and HTM 2022 standards. We also offer custom solutions with our special designs. For example, the measurement of parameters such as hydrocarbons, CO, CO2, flow, and dew point is possible.
